One of the most spectacular Broadway shows of all time performing Mondays, Wednesdays Fridays and Saturdays in the heart of New York just off Time Square, This show tells roughly the same story but with real people playing animal parts the show is given a new angle that both the films never could. It includes 4 new songs not featured in the films including the award winning "morning report".

Just The Ticket

Depending on the day of the week you want to see it there are performances at 2:00pm or 8pm but be sure to pre-book your seat or you'll end up queing outside for about 3 hours for a cancellation and even then you are not guaranteed to get one.

There are 4 basic seats, Orchestra which is the front and most expensive at $85 (£62), Mezzanine which is still on the ground floor but at the rear of the Orchestra seats and are priced at $75 (£50), Balcony one which is the first floor and priced at $65 (£42), Balcony two which is above Balcony one and further back and priced at $55 (£35). There are also three wall boxes which are priced according to the level that they are on (First or Second balcony).

Before and after the show the Disney store (which is joined to the theater) is open with a large Lion King section and selling Lion King Broadway souvenirs such as the CD containing the recordings of featured songs by the cast ($17, £12) and stuffed character models ranging from $6-$60 (£4-£40), keying's, badges and a wide selection of The Lion King Broadway cloths.

Visual and Audio recording devices are not permitted inside the theater

Want To Know Where It Is?

Find your way to Time Square (Manhattan, New York, NY) look around the buildings at time square for a giant Budweiser bottle which is next to 3 great big TV screens (on the side of a building) once you found that then face towards it, the road forks to the left and the right, follow the right fork until you reach the Disney store. Once at the Disney store just look down the road next to it and you will see a big orange sign which says "The Lion King" and that's it.

Or just catch the number 7 subway to time square and as you walk out of the station its down the road in front of you.

The Lion King Broadway, showing at the "New Amsterdam Theater" 214 West & 42nd Street. The city works on a grid mechanism so its easy to find, just follow the blocks until 214 West crosses 42nd Street.
