Drago's Quest

Drago was Husky/German Shepard cross. He was a sled dog on Steele's team. He never got much attention, and like all the other dogs he tried to stay on Steele's good side. He was almost all brownish-gray except for his left front paw. It was all white. He had a good spirit, but didn't show it all that well. He was fast asleep on the snowy ground on December 20, 1925. It was snowing lightly outside, and it was just turning twilight.
"Drago! Get up!!" An urgent voice echoed in his head as Drago groggily stood up. Before him stood Steele, Nikki and another husky. Only it was a female! Drago had never seen her before, but he didn't ask.
"What's up Steel?" Questioned Drago.
"Were gonna go and stir up some sction," whispered Steele. "Near Acorn Street. Oh, I forgot to introduce you. This is Kima, my sister. Kima, this Drago." Kima looked Drago up and down and smiled. Drago liked her right away.
"Come on guys!!" shouted Steele as he ran down the street, Nikki at his heels.
"Pleasure to meet you," said Kima softly. Than she trotted after her brother. Drago sighed happily. He ran after the gang. The small group came to Acorn street, a street with mostly elderly dogs.
"Come on," whispered Steel. "Let's go to Rusty's house!" Rusty was an old coon hound.kind to all dogs. The group began to walk down the street, when suddenly Kima's voice spook up.
"Ummm..Steele? I don't feel so well. Go ahead with out me." She dropped her head.
Drago looked at her, then turned to Steele. "I'll stay with her Steele. Go on." Steele shrugged and walked off. Kima didn't look so happy. Drago beamed with joy. He was in love. "Uh, hi Kima." He said. Kima smiled weakly, them began to walk away. "Kima!!" Called Drago, running after her. "Wait!"
Kima turned to Drago, and her eyes were watery. "You'd better not get mixed up with me," She whispered. "You'll only put yourself in danger." She dashed away, leaving Drago stunned.
Drago chased after her, and found her crying in the boiler room. "Kima?" Drago said softly. "Kima, what's wrong?" Kima didn't answer. Drago tried again. "Kima, whatever it is.I'll help you." Drago got nervous about what he knew he had to say next. "Kima, I REALLY like you." He blushed. Kima looked up and smiled. She ran to Drago and they nuzzled for a long time. After a few hours, the 2 had fallen asleep on the floor side by side.
Steele burst in the door, and gasped. "What's going on in here??" He demanded.
Drago leaped up, ansd stuttered. "Uh, Steele. Nothing happened. We just fell asleep."
Steele glared, then stormed out, Nikki following. Kima sighed and got up. "Come on Drago," she said. "We don't need him." The 2 left and went for a walk. For the next 2 months, the 2 became best friends. Thay went to the park, ate together, and played fetch. One night, Kima knew the time had come. Pups. She led Drago to a small deserted hill. No one could see them on it, because eof all the trees surrounding it.
"Wow, it sure is beautiful here!" Said Drago.
"Yeah." said Kima in a dreamy voice.
She was looking right at Drago. Drago understood. They nuzzled for a long time. Drago whispered to Kima, "I love you." Kima answered the same thing. That night, Kima became pregnant.
The next morning, Steele came and found the 2 asleep in the boiler room. He saw the look on Kima's face that made him ask, "Now what?"
"Well." started Kima. "Me and Drago were out last night, and well, to make a long story short.." She took a deep breath. "I'm pregnant."
Steele just gawked. Than he stormed out, without another word. Kima and Drago nuzzled. A few weeks later, the pups were born! 5 healthy pups. Drago smiled happily at Kima, and vice versa.
Steele burst into the hospital room, and the look on his face said, "Boy, Drago. You're gonna get it!"
