Saka's New Home

Balto awoke with a fright.A ship had been expected.They all said"It has special cargo!".That was what he feared.Another Dog it must be,for the people seemed to want them.He got up.The ship was nearing the dock.He leaped off his shipwreck home and ran toward the dock.The men that were unloading began to carry a large crate.Balto sniffed and then a strange and worried look came on his face.He smelled some beast from another land.The animal in the crate(wich said"Experiment Workdog-handle with care"on it)growled and Balto heard it snap.He hurried to the home of the new animal where the crate was set down.The man,John Logan,was smiling.He opened the crate and brought out a beast.This was some creature,a hybrid of a wild exotic beast and a malamut or husky.

"What is this animal?"Balto thought.The man got in the crate with a chain and tied it.Then he came out with a beautiful,large,grey,spotted,thick-haired hyena(Saka).

It had been 2 weeks since Saka the hyena had moved into John Logan's home.She was NOT being chased or made fun of.She was feared.She was much bigger than the dogs of Nome.Balto was out late one night and thought about her stone-hard gaze and how lonely a feared creature was .He watched her alot and learned that she was a hybrid of hyena and malemute,done by scientists.She needed companionship,but otherwise was happy.

He finally got the courage to talk to her."What is your name?"he asked.

"Sakarali,"she replied."but you can call me Saka."

Jenna came soon after and asked, "Ever had pups?"

"No."Replied Saka."friends?"asked Jenna.

"No."sain Saka.

"We'll be friends,faithful friends."said Balto.

Saka's gaze for once looked over them and became softer.

The Trouble Begins

Saka yawned"Hmm...that's...odd.A harness and sled?I thought that was for dogs."

Her owner,John,then took her by the collar and arranged the straps and buckles to fit a large animal,and placed her in it.

OK.that's not good.Oh no.he wouldn't! She thought

John then yelled his "go" command,Hike,and expected her to run as she'd been trained.

"Come on you!"he yelled.She gave in and ran.All the dogs were amazed!Then Balto saw her .He knew she neede a mate.She saw the other dogs with them and saddened.A dog called Lucky,dalmation,was not so lucky when he said"Hahaha She might kill us by laughing!Her mom had the beauty of a dog but her dad..I beg to differ!He had 1/4 of a brain.They say he was gifted hehehehhahaa"

Saka then grabbed his throat and bit with bane crushing force and left him dead.That was why they feared her.But as she ran she feared them more.

The Experiment

Saka stratched and yawned,taking in the cool air of the arctic.The hyena stood up.Today,though she didn't know why,her owner,John Logan,had bought a new dogsled."Can't be for me.I'm not even a dog."she thought."Well,"said John,"I guess it's time for the experiment."what experiment?"thought Saka.Just then,the carpenter came into the home of John."How do you like your sled,Mr.Logan?"he asked."Fine,"he replied,"but it's a little heavy.Can you make a new,lighter one?""John,"said the carpenter,"I made that sled custom for your hyena!Hyenas are faster and stronger than our sled dogs!I wouldn't want her to win races unfairly!""But there's only one of her,"John yelled,"and dogs get teams!"They yelled on and on until finally they agreed to buy the other 8 hyena-hybrids available.And they soon arrived,each with a name:

Jalena-brown spotted female

Banzai-grey spotted male

Jakali-darker grey spotted female

Kingo-tan spotted male

Quennigo-reddish spotted male

Kikonigono(Kiko)-Lighter grey spotted male

Jakye(pronounced "Jackie")-darker brown spotted female

Sonikono(Sony)-grey spotted male(brother to Banzai)

The next day would be the day.Nome would never be the same.
