The way I see it...
Hm, I thought you perhaps want to know who the one is who made this homepage. Well, I am a tigress from Germany. My favourite charactors in "The Lion King" are the hyenas, and most of them I like Shenzi. If you've already visited my whole home, you'll know that. So, I saw Hyenagirl's website www.lionking.org/~hyaena and she made an "oppinions site". I liked the idea, so I took it on ( or stole it, see it the way you like ). I have got two nicknames I often use, the first is Tiger, the second "Shenzi". So, please, if you mail me, call me by one of these names, I like them more than my real one. When I am grown up, I wanna become a biologist and observe the animals I like the most. That are tigers, wolves, hyenas and so on. Short: the Great Carnivores! So, now I wanna write my very own opinions to several themes.
Simba's Pride
I think everybody who made an "opinion site" wrote about "Simba's Pride". I say: I really liked the music and the film wasn't too bad, but several scenes and other things I would make better. Par example NO HYENAS! Where did they go? What did they do? WHY did they go? (it's only said that they "ran off"). Who could answer me this questions, please? I think Nuka should be the substitude for them, but hey, his jokes are not half as funny as Banzai's and you can't put three characters in one person! And the drawing! Yes, they had a smaller budget, but guys, what are stereotypes for? They didn't get one colour right, Simba's mane is not red, it's rather grey!Timon got darker, likewise Pumbaa. And Nala got very much uglier than I remember her, she looked so cute in TLK, in SP she looks somehow ridiculous, with the broader chin and so on. From the new characters I like best Vitani, she's clever, cute and I like her hairstyle, it's a little bitty like Shenzi's. But more opinions you can find on Vitani. Likewise Zira. I don't know, what I should think about Nuka, he's...I don't know. Oh, Kovu is a bit, well, he looks like Scar ( hm, as a cub he's really unpretty, I think ), but he isn't his son...? How can that be? He, little explaination of mine: Kovu can't be Scar's son, 'cause he falls in love with Kiara, who would be his cousin then. So he must be son of a nomade or Zira lived with a different pride then ( and the ruler looked exactly like Scar, very strange...). Oh, and Kiara? Well, as a child I think she's very cute, a bit mad and arrogant, but cute. When she's older she's also mad, but not cute any more. I liked her, but I think Simba has changed a lot. He's so overprotective, that I must say he's a bad father, 'cause he doesn't let his daughter make her own experiences. All in one, the sequel could be a lot better, first in line the story (C'mon Romeo&Juliet is a bit hackneyed now). I've read wunderful storys sequels, too, written by fans. Why did WD didn't take one of these? Because of Di$ney, my friend would say now...
The Timon&Pumbaa Show
I have watched it often enough to write about it. At first, I don't like to see Timon and Pumbaa walking in the city, doing jobs for money, talk with human or putting clothes on. They are animals, they should be in their little jungle, fighting all the every-day worries (or not worries, I know, Hakuna Matata) of a warthogs or meerkat (or what is Timon? in german we say "Erdmännchen", meaning earth/soilmale"), par example, how to escape a lion/hyena/falcon or someone similar. And what does an electric high-security-thing in the savanna? I like most the series, where they stay at home and do natural things. The same rules are for every serie, even the ones with Zazu and Rafifki, and I know one about the 3 hyenas, too!!! So, that are my suggestions about that topic! Maybe there will come more, maybe not. I just write down whatever comes into my mind :-)
Mulan
Mulan is, together with Aladdin, my
favourite movie from Disney. Well, after TLK, of course. I can really understand
all her actions and feel with her. Besides, it's a very, very funny movie, and
is not comparable with TLK, which has a deep meaning and is not made just to
make you laugh. For those who haven't watched Mulan yet:
Mulan is supposed to be married and bring so great honor to her family, which
seems to be the most important thing for the Chinese in those days (it's set in
the time when China still had an Emparor). Well, Mulan failed at the matchmaker.
When the huns enter China, one man of every family has to join the army. In
Mulan's family that must be her father, because she hasn't any (male) siblings.
But Mulan's father has an injured leg, she fears that he'll die. So she decides
to take his place and go to war instead of him. At first, the trainer tells her
to go home, but then she impresses all with her cleverness. When it comes to
battle, she saves her troop and China from the huns. She's a hero.
