Certainly, characters such as the relatives, friends, and ancestors of the characters portrayed in The Lion King are important to it's story, but if they were not portrayed in tlk, then 'official' entries of those characters are not possible. Sarafina is not only important to the story of The Lion King, but she was portrayed in it. Granted, the mole, the mouse, (with Scar when he is first shown [Act I, laserdisc Chapter 2]) all of the characters in the Circle of Life, I Just Can't Wait to Be King, Be Prepared, Hakuna Matata sequences, etc. are important to tlk, enough information is not available about them to make a signifigant entry anyway. Besides, Disney thought that Sarafina was a significant enough character to include on it's tlk 'group' poster which is also the image in the icon for "The Characters" section. Also, when you move your mouse pointer to "The Characters" icon on this web site, it says: "Character descriptions and images for the whole TLK cast". The last time I watched tlk, I could'nt even watch half of it, because this issue is bothering me so much.Maintainer's note: sigh ... Okay, then I'll change the pointer text to "Almost all of the TLK cast". I thought I'd made it sufficiently clear that I can't make a character page without a Skybox "character card", because that card is what I scan for the picture at the top of each character page. Sarafina doesn't have one. Besides, we know nothing at all about her character. No personality, no background, nothing. Just one line: "What do you think, Sarabi?" And the fact that she's Nala's mother. That doesn't constitute a "character" in my reckoning. If it's that horrendous an issue, mail me privately. The guest book isn't the place for this. -BTI can't even look at that poster of mine (that I wrote about on July 24 in the Guest Book) anymore. What does Skybox know about The Lion King anyway! We are the true fans.

HI........ NICE TO MEET YOU...... GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!! TRY YOUR BEST TO BE THE BEST!!!!!!!
The movie wa great wasn't it! Well I enjoyed it very much even though I am not a child anymore. Anyways, the story was not only for children but also for adults alike because of its moral component. I do hope that Disney makes more movies like lion king so we can all love someone like simba.

you know...
Now [Shenzi]:"Wait, wait, wait,...I beg to differ! No disrespect intended, but Sarafina *was* a significant character whether or not she was portrayed to be in The Lion King. The impact to the story that would have occurred without her presence are enourmous, and therefore she deserves to be a part of "The Characters" section of this web page. The 'gopher' and like characters may have had lines...but the presence of those particular characters were not very critical to the story- the quantity and types of them could have been easily changed, for example.Maintainer's Note: Well, you could just as easily argue that Mufasa's father deserves a spot there too, as would Timon's colony-mates and the other lionesses and the other hyenas. They were significant characters whether or not they were portrayed in the movie... :) Also, let me say again-- the characters listed are the ones there are SkyBox "character cards" for. Sarafina doesn't have one. :) -BTI love this site...but you can count on me to pay attention to detail!...but of course, you already know that (light poking) you maintainer you. :)
I loved this movie. I can watch it again and again.

Why is it that Sarafina (Nala's mother) is not listed in "The Characters" section of this site?
Maintainer's note: Because the characters I have listed are the ones that have "character cards" among the SkyBox trading cards-- that's where I got the pictures and the text to go with each one. Besides, if we added Sarafina, we'd have to add the Gopher... ("Zazu! Sir! News from the underground.")-- and so on. It starts getting out of hand... :) -BT
I realize that she only had one line:"Hmm...what do you think, Sarabi?" but nonetheless, if it were'nt for her there would be no Nala, and without Nala, The Lion King would definitely have not been the same. I think one of the only mistakes made in The Lion King was not making Sarafina a more 'rounded', significant character. Love the pictures of each of the characters in "The Characters" section of this page, though! :) Btw, I was the one who asked the question about the FDC muck...I did'nt wan't anyone thinking that I do not adequately keep up on tlk happenings...but alas, I do not own a pc.

A quick question: the link to the FDC muck no longer seems to exist here...does the FDC muck exist any longer?...and if it does, where on the Internet does information about it reside? (I would leave my name here, but I would probably seem silly for not knowing this information) Maintainer's note: Don't feel silly. :) The website for the MUCK is at http://reedycreek.stanford.edu/fdcmuck. -BT

i suggest that together with the free themes, include selections of wallpapers for people who wants only wallpaper, not the whole theme.Maintainer's note: Well, that's what the Image Archive is for... you can set any picture as your wallpaper by right-clicking on it and choosing "Set As Wallpaper" from the menu. Besides, I'm not going to post images as BMP's... shudder :) -BT

A few thoughts:I like the fact that there is an icon for "The Lion King WWW Archive", on this site, to easily return to the original page.Second, I also like the "The Lion King Broadway Musical" icon in the lower right corner of the main title section...I do not like the way that Disney made the icon look, but that's something else. And I *really* like the fact that you added that image from tlk to the area behind that main title section. :> Love those postcards, too. And the fact that you made the tlk Interactive section out of what were seperate sections of this site. Near the bottom of your main page, there is no longer a picture of Nala and Jennifer's name,...why is that?Well, because she isn't a part of the website anymore... and hasn't been for well over a year. -BTAnd the picture of Timon there is cool, but not one that I have seen before,...who drew it and when? And I will have to admit, I always look at the status of you being logged in, and I wonder what you are doing at that very moment.I drew it... thanks. :) -BTI like that the addition of this site to the "The Lion King Web Ring" brings that wonderful banner here, as well. No matter how much this page insists, I still like Microsoft Internet Explorer...it integrated with Windows 95 superbly, and seems to connect more reliably than others. It may be integrated perfectly, but its implementation of HTTP 1.1 is shoddy at best... I've benchmarked it at half the display speed of Netscape 4.0 on two separate machines, and it can't handle certain de-facto standards for script handling that are a fundamental part of this site's operation. What can I say? It doesn't work right. And Microsoft's strategy for promoting it is contemptible. -BTKeep up the good work on this page! :Thanks-- I will! :)

I REALLY LIKE THIS PLACE BUT I WOULD LIKE TO BE ABLE TO LISTEN TO SME OF THE MUSIC WITHOUT DOWNLOADING ANY THING CAUSE IM ON WEBTV AND I CANT DOWNLOADMaintainer's note: Listening to songs requires a lot of data to be transferred at a high rate. Right now, that requires compression like MPEG layer 3, or ADPCM or some other audio format. You have to be able to download it to use it. If you're using a client that doesn't allow you to download, that's a fundamental shortcoming of the client. Sorry... By the way, your caps lock key seems to be stuck. -BT

Sometimes when I am thinking I will look in the direction of my items of The Lion King (tlk) and I will notice something unusual about one of them. Once, I was looking at a poster which was labeled "Lion King group" and it is a poster of the picture that is labeled "The Lion King Cast" at the Image Archive of this web site. I have noticed that on this picture, Simba has no whiskars. Also, on different Lion King items, Simba has varying numbers of whiskars. Unusual, huh? I just wonder where exactly this image came from, and what time it was produced relative to the film itself. Besides that, this poster is my favorite one.
I'm a 37 year old woman who absolutely LOVES Lion King! I love to chat on ICQ, too. Please look me up - I'm always around.
